Many babies are injected with a Hepatitis B vaccine immediately after birth, so parents need to be prepared.
Canada's Immunization Guide: "If a monovalent HB vaccine is provided, the preferred schedule (particularly for infants less than 12 months of age) is month 0 (first dose), month 1 and month 6.
For infants immunized at birth, the dose administered at birth is month 0. The minimum interval between the first and second dose is 4 weeks; between the second and third dose is 2 months; and between the first and the third dose is 4 months."
